Happy Feet
It was a Happy Feet weekend, in relation to the activities I did over the past two days that involved some feet movement and left me in a happy mode thereafter.
Saturday was out with the gang of who-else-but-those-usual-few-fellas of Secondary School buddies as we gang up to give a birthday surprise to fellow mate, Pei Sun. Conspiring with her boyfriend, we tricked her into coming to Sentosa where we surprised her with our unexpected turn-up. From then on, we went forth to explore some of the island's newest attractions in the hope of giving our good friend a memorable and meaningful day there.
We bought their special group package, called the Imbiah Thrill package at $33.50 per person, which allows us to patronise these three attractions - the Luge & Skyride, the Carlsberg Sky Tower and the 4D Magix - all of which is enough to keep us entertained for half a day.
The luge ride was thrilling when you get to speed down the slope on a cart to the pull of gravitational force and is even possible to practise your Initial-D skills on those sharp road bends they have, though not advisable. The Skyride, an open-air bench which takes you up to the top from where you take the luge ride down, was more like a hellride for an Acrophobia person like me.
Then there is the Carlsberg Sky Tower which transports you up to 131 metres above ground, where you get to have a good scenaric view of the surroundings on a clear day (thankfully haze is gone), to as far as Toa Payoh and Ang Mo Kio, and some say Batam. And lastly, the Sentosa 4D Magix cinema which irritates you during the show by spraying water on your face, tickling your feet and jerking your seat unnecessarily.
Nearing evening time, we headed over to Siloso Beach where we continued with our second surprise for our birthday girl. We specially got our other friend, Lester, to popped by with a birthday cake and thereafter had a mini celebration for Pei Sun at the beach.
The night was rounded off with a steamboat dinner at Marina South and a midnight show at Plaza Singuapura, watching none other than "Happy Feet". Basically it's about a young penguin who had failed to make it for "Penguins Idol" but yet made a success in "So You Think You Can Tap?" Overall it's a generally fine show to watch, with a few funny jokes being made here and there.
Best Quotes:
"I hear somebody wanting something... ME!"
"I'm gonna be telling your story, Happy Feet, long after you're dead and gone!"
