Say my name, Say my name
I have a love and hate affair with my name.
Since young, I felt frustrated when alot of people can't seemed to be able to pronouce my name correctly, teachers especially. I got quite alot of funny names from them like, "Bull Shi" (sounds like bullshit), "Bo Hsu", "Bo She", and worst still, "Bao Shi"...
I tried to correct them, but gave up after several attempts when they still can't get it. So I just leave it as it is to whatever they like to call and whichever they find it easy to remember this student.
And then they liked to poke fun at my name as well. Will not forget my Secondary Three English teacher by the name of Miss Ha "haha" Mei Lan (as how my class liked to make fun of her surname), who tried to be lame by asking me whether I have a brother called "Bo Pian"... Dots... -_-"
"Ha! Ha! Ha!... It's not funny teacher...", I thought to myself sarcastically.
Hmmm then again, sometimes I do find it abit difficult in pronoucing the name myself. If i say it too fast it's easy to get tongue-tied. =p
Nevertheless, I still like my name for it is unique. Not many will have a name that sounds so close to a "professor" in Chinese ya... Haha... Plus, names are given to define our individual characters and it's a special gift from our parents, so even the more we should respect it.
