Much ado about Idol

And the results are out - after plenty buzz about "Will it be The Crooner or The Rocker?" - Hady Mirza the crooner is this season's Singapore Idol.

So it looks like we have another huan na kia winner this year, after Taufik Batisah claimed to fame in 2004. Huan na kia is Hokkien for "Malay child". Nothing to do with the deceased little China girl. I don't meant any racists remarks from there, just that I thought there might be a change of a Chinese rocker winning the title this time?

Anyway it's glad that this whole Idol thingy is over now, after months of the not-too-appealing-to-audiences-anymore second season of the show. It had something to do with the poor and lacklustre performances of the contestants, the pointless voting system which seems to shoo away the good apples and retained the bad. ( Eventually they still get ditched after becoming rotten). As well as the appearance of an alien-speaking judge, who then later on got involved in Speech Fighter after a speech-fight with Ken. I say, you did your best but still failed ( in raising viewership ).

Now that the winner is out, hmmm... so will Hady be just another one-hit wonder? Like how last Idol Taufik, as well as winner contestants from other talent search shows, who seems to disappear into the limelight after the early stage of being fresh and popular?

Oh yes! And I can't wait for the upcoming season two of "So You Think You Can Dance?" as well as our Singapore's very own first dance reality show - The Dancefloor - taking place in January next year. Haha their groovilicious trailer just made me so tempted to join, but guessing my dancing skills is C.M.I., so better not lah... haha...
