Fireworks In AMK?
I always thought firework-displays only takes place around National Stadium or Esplanade-Marina Bay areas. I didn't know they existed in Ang Mo Kio as well. No kidding. It just happened two nights ago.
While happily watching an episode of Taiwanese variety show - "Variety Big Brother" on TV, I was puzzled why there're "ping-ping pong-pong" sounds coming from right outside the window. "Since when has a firing range been constructed near my house?" I thought.
Now that don't make any sense. To find out what exactly is going on out there, I rolled my computer chair over, peered out of the window from my 10th-floor flat, and, aha, that's what I saw - bright and colourful fireworks appearing in the cloudless sky.
As soon as that happens, I had all my family members coming out to take a look and even my sister trying to capture it with her camera phone. I planned to send a picture of what she took to Stomp! (75557), saying - "Fireworks In AMK?" But the idea was abolished after I see for myself her photography skills in taking those pictures.
Anyway, the fireworks session on that night is just a mini one though. It didn't last very long and not as fanciful as compared to NDP or whatsoever. But that's not the point. I'm more curious to know who are they and what's the occasion they are celebrating, such that fireworks are being displayed. Mooncake Festival?
